Artspace provides a unique, dynamic environment where artists can learn from each other and grow professionally, a place where the public can see how art is created, a space where children and adults can learn to express their creativity in classes and workshops, and experience exhibitions by regional, national, and international artists.
The 30th Anniversary Residency Retrospective, on display in Gallery One and Upfront and Lobby Gallery (until June 24), is a celebration of the artists who have been involved in Artspace’s residency programs over the last two decades. These artists, both local and national, represent the spirit of innovation through creativity that has come to define the residency programs.
Featured in Gallery Two is artwork by current and former Artspace artist members (on display until June 3). Work was juried by Annah Lee, Artspace’s Director of Artistic Programs, and Lia Newman, the Director and Curator of the Van Every/Smith Galleries. These exhibitions present the history of the institution while demonstrating the ways that they continue to move forward.
On display until June 29, the Spring Corridor Exhibition features a non-juried exhibition of artwork by current and former Artspace members, as part of the 30th Anniversary Artist Retrospective. Each artist was allowed to submit up to two pieces.
