Chef Corbett Monica and his wife, Julie, are excited to announce their first Cary restaurant located off Hwy 55 in Parkside Town Commons. A spin-off from Raleigh’s Bella Monica Cucina & Vino, Stellino’s Italiano brings their from-scratch, family recipes to the neighborhoods of western Cary. “Although the menu is similar to our Bella Monica offerings, the bigger space allows us to execute some new menu items that we weren’t able to offer at Bella Monica,” says owner Chef Corbett Monica. “Because of these expanded food and beverage offerings, we felt a name change was needed to differentiate the brand.” 

 Stellino’s Italiano is a neighborhood trattoria featuring thin-crust pizzas, pastas, seafood and chicken, as well as rustic pork & beef dishes comprised of time-tested Neapolitan recipes handed down from their grandparents. To get the best flavor and texture, the pizza dough is made with imported Italian flours, which then ferments for 48 hours. This lengthy process results in dough that is easier to digest, and a pizza that is so light and crisp, you can pick it up with one hand. Dessert offerings include favorites like traditional Italian tiramisu, and the best cannoli you will ever taste. There are also espresso options to complete your meal. 

And no legitimate Italian restaurant would be complete without an exceptional selection of wines. Stellino’s wine list features all Italian, hard-to-find selections that are a perfect match for their pasta, flatbreads and desserts …  including Prosecco on tap!

 The design is at once modern and rustic with reclaimed wood, with a stunning bar top made from a felled Chatham County walnut tree.  Expansive windows illuminate the space with natural light and provide a great spot to view the hub of the shopping center.  Comfortable banquette seating and traditional tables over-look the open kitchen. 

“Being next to the cinema makes it a great location for young families headed to the movies.  And at the same time, our authentic Italian cuisine, full bar and eclectic décor, makes it the perfect place for dinner with friends or a late night date destination,” says Chef Monica.  “The feedback has been fantastic. Our customers are telling us that we are filling a niche for a locally owned neighborhood destination.”

Stellino’s Italiano is the second step from the team that brought Bella Monica Cucina & Vino to the west Raleigh. In August 2000, Chef Corbett Monica and his wife Julie opened Bella Monica; A neighborhood trattoria that has become a Raleigh favorite known for its authentic Italian fare and honest hospitality.
